Sons of Anarchy added Lost’s Harold Perrineau to SOA’s Season 5 cast as Damon Pope.
Pope is the ex-drug kingpin whose daughter was murdered by Tig in Season 4′s finale. Jax Teller and SAMCRO were just about to get back to their original lawless life of gun running and dope smuggling when Tig went off the reservation with that piece of violence.
“I definitely wanted to lay some track for Season 5 and put some complications already on Jax’s shoulder as he’s sitting at the head of the table,” Sutter told TVLine last year. “He’s already got a problem”. (Referring to season 5)
Sutter tweeted this about the addition of Harold Perrineau to the cast of SOA ” We have our damon pope. that news will break soon. couldn’t be more thrilled with the choice. top notch actor. and a very unique choice.”
Sons of Anarchy Casting Season Five
You’ll remember that Jimmy Smits was cast last month on “Sons of Anarchy” in a story arc as Nero Padilla a Latino gangster. We have missed seeing Smits since his show “Cane” was cancelled after only one season.
Here’s what Kurt had to say about Smits on Twitter: “jimmy smits=badass… awesome read thru. great adding jimmysmits and chuck zito to our cast.”
Chuck Zito is the same guy who tried to sue Sutter for $5 million in June 2010 claiming that “Sons of Anarchy” was his brain child. The Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled against Zito and since then the pair have buried the hatched and Zito will appear in season five as a nomad who comes to Charming.
Kurt Sutter is really pumped that he can write season five knowing that SOA has already been picked up for season six.
For a wild ride and to learn about all that is “Sons of Anarchy” first you can follow Sutter on Twitter here and on his blog Sutterlink.com. WARNING… if the language on the show offends you… you probably shouldn’t subscribe.
It has been so very long since the fans have gotten to feel and hear the grit that is the SOA experience but we were able to dig up a little something special in the video department, the Grandsons of Anarchy (GOA). Take a look at this “Funny or Die” video segment with a cameo appearance by Kurt Sutter, creator, writer and director of sons and his real life old lady Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller).
