Maime Gummer as Emily Owens M.D.

The show we are most excited about is the Maimie Gummer-led medical drama Emily Owens, M.D. (FKA First Cut). We just love this young actress the daughter of legendary film actress Meryl Strep. She was memorable and quirky on Shonda Rhimes failed medical drama in the jungle “Off The Map,” and we also enjoyed her recent cameo appearance on “Smash” where she played Angelica Houston’s daughter.

Maimie Gummer is back in Emily Owens, M.D.

Surprisingly “Hart of Dixie” made the cut and is moving to Tuesday where it will lead into Gummer’s new show.

“Gossip Girls” is coming to an end on the CW with their 11-episode season that will air on Monday’s and 9/8C. “The Carrie Diaries” will take over that time slot in the midseason. A new thriller “Cult” will also be part of the midseason offerings.

Movie News on ‘The Internship’ ‘Ghostman’ and ‘The Counselor’

Below you are treated to the much awaited first peek at Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis’ new film ‘Looper’ released by Tri-Star Pictures yesterday. This sci-fi thriller is the perfect genre for these two actors. Time travel is possible in this time but only to the mob who hire assassins to take care of their hits. The mob from the future sends back someone they want eliminated to a “looper”.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Bruce Willis in Looper

Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a looper who is very well paid and living the good life until the mob sends back an older version of him (Bruce Willis). This pair of actors don’t look that much alike so we aren’t sure how Joe knows it’s an older version of himself so perhaps he looks just like his father. At any rate the clip looks very cool, both fast paced and the futuristic mayhem we expect from Willis.

Levitt and Johson talk about Looper at ComicCon

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was at ComicCon talking about this role and he is clearly thrilled to be getting to “become” Bruce Willis someone he’s idolized and watched in movies since he was a little kid. His exact words were “It’s Bruce F’ing Willis!” To prepare for the part Levitt watched and listened to Willis’ past movies and created a character based on who Willis is now. He underwent three to four hours of makeup each day to help transform his face to resemble his future self.

When you listen to Levitt’s voice in the official trailer you do hear that distinctive Willis lilt in his voice.  Levitt also underwent three to four hours of makeup each day to help transform his face to resemble his future self. It’s hard to imagine but Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been acting for 25 of his 31 years starting his career at 6 years old in “Family Ties.” His most iconic role in the sitcom “3rd Rock from the Sun” made his name a household word and his most recent movie ventures (50/50 and Inception) have catapulted him to stardom.

Hunger Games stays at number 1 in the box office starring Jennifer Lawrence

Friday April 6, 2012 brought casting news from Sons of Anarchy on FX. Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue, Cane, The West Wing) has been cast in a major season-long story arc for season five. Smits will play Neron “Nero” Padilla, a Latino gangbanger who becomes a mentor for Jax (Charlie Hunnam).

Smits has played bad guys before but usually he is all clean shaven in a pricy suit and  drinking expensive scotch. SOA creator Kurt Sutter reports this character will be a heavily tattooed  biker dude.

If you were worried about whether or not Jax Teller would be back to live another day, put your minds to rest. Kurt Sutter has been given a three year deal and Sons of Anarchy has been renews for a fifth and sixth season already.

If you are ok with a few four letter words, you can head on over to Kurt Sutter’s blog where he talks about random things in his life as well as what’s happening with Sons of Anarchy season five.

Sutter let fans know that four new characters were in development for the fifth year of blood, sex, lust and violence.  We aren’t sure if one of these is the character the Jimmy Smits has been cast as, it could be number two or four.

1. Damon Pope, who’s daughter Tig killed at the end of season 4.
2. One wears a patch we’ve never seen.
3. One is hard, curvy and very sexy.
4. One packs a platinum .45 with a walrus tusk handle, he’s incredibly dangerous, but really, he just wants to be loved.

Jimmy Smits joins cast of Sons of Anarchy for season 5 FX

The first sneak peek video of ‘The Lucky One’ was just released today April 6, 2012 by Warner Bros. ‘The Lucky One’ tells the story of U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) after he returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq to his home in Colorado.

The video shows Sergeant Thibault under fire in Iraq where he notices something in the rubble. Efron’s character walks to the object, picks it up and as he turns to continue, an explosion happens in the spot where he would have been had he not stopped to pick up the photograph. He learns the identity of the girl in the photo and feels that he was meant to find her.

Your first peek at Beth (Taylor Schilling) is when she meets Logan and trys trying to understand why he would drive all the way from Colorado to North Carolina to get a job at her family-run kennel. He says he didn’t drive, he walked to meet this woman who in a strange and miraculous way saved his life in Iraq.

Blythe Danner plays Ellie, Beth’s mother who tells her daughter to believe in the power of love and fate dispite of all the complications in her life.

Zach Efron is known for many roles including all three of the “High School Musical” movies, “Hairspray,” “17 Again,” “Charlie St. Cloud.”

Taylor Schilling is a relative newcomer with her most memorable role being in the one season TV show “Mercy” and the movie “Atlas Shrugged: Part 1″
